October 31, 2017 5:29 PM EDTFollowing many years of speculation about a match made in automation heaven, news broke earlier today that Emerson Electric (NYSE: EMR) recently offered to acquire Rockwell Automation (NYSE: ROK) but was rebuffed twice.
The companies confirmed a CNBC report Tuesday morning about the overtures.
