Chatham Lodging adds ex-Marriott executive Liam Brown to board

Chatham Lodging Trust (NYSE: CLDT) announced the appointment of Liam Brown to its board of trustees as an independent director, effective immediately, according to a press release from the company.
Brown most recently served as group president, United States and Canada, of Marriott International from January 2021 until his retirement in June 2026. In that role, he oversaw lodging operations across North and South America, covering more than 6,000 hotels and approximately 160,000 employees.
Brown's career at Marriott spans more than three decades, beginning in 1989. He held several senior positions, including president and managing director of Europe from 2018 to 2019, group president of Europe, Middle East and Africa in 2020, and president for franchising, owner services and managed by Marriott select brands, North America, from 2012 to 2018.
Jeffrey H. Fisher, Chatham's chairman and chief executive officer, said in the statement: "We have worked with Liam over the past 30 years and are excited to bring his extensive lodging expertise to our board."
Brown currently serves on the board of EPR Properties (NYSE: EPR), where he chairs the Compensation and Human Capital Committee and sits on the Nominating/Company Governance Committee. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the American Hotel and Lodging Association.
Brown holds a Hotel Diploma and Business Degree from the Dublin Institute of Technology, Trinity College, and an MBA from the Robert H. Smith School of Management at the University of Maryland.
