Granite wins $23.7M contract to rehabilitate road in Glacier Park

Granite Construction (NYSE: GVA) has been awarded a $23.7 million contract to rehabilitate Two Medicine Road in Glacier National Park, Montana, according to a company press release.

The contract was awarded by the Federal Highway Administration's Western Federal Lands Highway Division in partnership with the National Park Service and the Blackfeet Nation. The project will be included in Granite's third quarter contract award portfolio.

The scope of work covers 7.22 miles of roadway and includes reconstruction, hot mix asphalt paving, drainage improvements, parking area restoration, stream channel restoration, and construction of visitor amenities. The project will use full-depth reclamation with cement, recycling existing pavement material on-site to reduce imported materials and vehicle traffic through the park.

Construction is scheduled to begin in fall 2026 and is expected to be completed in late 2027.

Paul Harding, Granite's Regional Vice President, noted that Two Medicine Road is the company's fourth Federal Highway Administration Western Federal Lands project in the region over the past three years.
