XPO names Jonas Svedlund as its new chief legal officer

XPO (NYSE: XPO) announced the appointment of Jonas Svedlund as chief legal officer, effective immediately. Svedlund will oversee the company's legal and compliance functions, including corporate governance and commercial matters.
Svedlund most recently served as deputy general counsel at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where he managed corporate and commercial legal operations. Before that, he held executive roles over more than a decade at General Electric, including serving as general counsel for two separate GE businesses. He began his career as a corporate attorney at Sullivan & Cromwell.
Svedlund holds a juris doctor degree from Harvard Law School and a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley.

XPO is a freight transportation company headquartered in Greenwich, Conn., serving 55,000 customers with 586 locations and 38,000 employees across North America and Europe.
