Wall St opens higher but weekly losses loom

Aug 21 (Reuters) - ‌Wall ​Street's ​main indexes opened higher on ‌Friday after getting hammered ⁠in the previous session, ‌though markets remained ‌on track to end the week in ​the red as surging government ⁠bond yields and geopolitical tensions weighed ​on risk appetite.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average ​rose 9.7 ‌points, or 0.02%, at the open ⁠to 52768.87. The S&P 500 rose 24.5 ⁠points, or 0.32%, at ​the open to 7665.68, while the Nasdaq Composite rose ‌131.7 points, or 0.51%, to 26198.835 ‌at the ⁠opening bell.
