US targets one entity in Venezuela-related sanctions

WASHINGTON, Aug ‌18 (Reuters) - ​The ​United States has imposed ‌Venezuela-related sanctions on one ⁠entity based in the ‌British Virgin Islands, ‌according to a notice posted on ​the Treasury Department website on Tuesday.

The ⁠U.S. targeted Bluwaves Properties Limited, ​an offshore corporate vehicle formerly owned by ​U.S. energy ‌magnate Harry Sargeant III.

It held ⁠a minority stake in North American ⁠Blue Energy Partners, Venezuela's second-largest ​private oil producer. Sargeant sold Bluwaves for $300 million ‌earlier this month.
