US targets one entity in Venezuela-related sanctions
WASHINGTON, Aug 18 (Reuters) - The United States has imposed Venezuela-related sanctions on one entity based in the British Virgin Islands, according to a notice posted on the Treasury Department website on Tuesday.
The U.S. targeted Bluwaves Properties Limited, an offshore corporate vehicle formerly owned by U.S. energy magnate Harry Sargeant III.
It held a minority stake in North American Blue Energy Partners, Venezuela's second-largest private oil producer. Sargeant sold Bluwaves for $300 million earlier this month.
