Trump says US has to have Greenland

PALM ⁠BEACH, Florida, ⁠Dec ‍22 (Reuters) - U.S. ‍President Donald Trump on ​Monday said ​the United States needs to have Greenland, not ​for critical minerals ​but for national security.

Trump ‌named Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry on ​Sunday as ⁠his special envoy to ‌Greenland, drawing renewed criticism ‌from Denmark and ‌Greenland over Washington's interest in the mineral-rich ‍Arctic island.
