Meta bans TikTok from advertising on its apps, Bloomberg News reports

Oct 8 (Reuters) - ‌Meta ​banned ​advertisements in the US ‌from ByteDance, the Chinese ⁠parent company of ‌TikTok, Bloomberg News reported ‌on Thursday.

Meta began implementing a complete ​restriction on ads and paid ⁠marketing messages placed on its ​platforms by ByteDance, with the ban taking ​effect in ‌the US, Canada, Egypt, Indonesia, ⁠Japan, Thailand and Vietnam, the report ⁠said citing the company.

Reuters ​could not independently verify the report. Meta did not ‌immediately respond to a Reuters ‌request for ⁠comment.
