German retail sales rise unexpectedly in May

June ‌30 (Reuters) - ​German ​retail sales ‌unexpectedly rose in ⁠May, ‌increasing by 1.1% ‌compared with the ​previous month, ⁠data showed on ​Tuesday.

Analysts polled by Reuters had ​predicted ‌retail sales to ⁠remain unchanged.

The ⁠federal statistics office ​publishes more details on ‌its website.
