General Dynamics taps insider Danny Deep as next CEO

Oct 7 (Reuters) - ‌General Dynamics ​on ​Wednesday said President Danny Deep would take over ‌as CEO in January, succeeding longtime ⁠chief executive Phebe Novakovic.

The leadership transition ‌comes at a ‌time of sustained demand for the company's defense and aerospace ​products, which range from Gulfstream jets and submarines to combat ⁠vehicles and IT services.

• ​Deep held senior leadership roles across General Dynamics' land systems, ​combat systems and global ‌operations businesses before being named president in 2025

• ⁠Novakovic, who will become executive chairman, has been General Dynamics' CEO ⁠since 2013, steering the company through a ​decade of growth and rising global defense spending

• The defense contractor reported profit ‌of $4.24 per share for the quarter ended July ‌5, above analysts' estimate of $3.97, ⁠according to data ‌compiled by ​LSEG
