FireFly Robotics files for Nasdaq direct listing

Oct 7 (Reuters) - FireFly Robotics, ‌which makes ​electric ​turfgrass harvesters and autonomous golf-course mowers, on Wednesday filed to go public through a direct listing.

A ‌direct listing allows a company to list its ⁠shares on an exchange without raising new capital or issuing new ‌stock, enabling existing shareholders to ‌sell their holdings.

Here are some more details:

• Registered stockholders plan to sell up to 27.1 million shares of ​the company's common stock in the listing.

• FireFly develops autonomous and semi-autonomous equipment for golf courses, sports fields ⁠and other turf-care applications, using AI, machine learning and electric-drive technology.

• The company ​had more than 900 autonomous mowing platforms, robotic harvesters and automated mowers in service globally as ​of June 30, according to ‌its filing.

• The Salt Lake City, Utah-based company changed its name from FireFly Automatix to ⁠FireFly Robotics in June this year

• The company filed for an IPO in October 2025 seeking to raise up to $29.3 million, ⁠but withdrew it in March 2026. It had planned to sell ​4.5 million shares at between $4.50 and $6.50 apiece.

• The company reported revenue of $30.5 million for the six months ended June 30, up from $22.9 million ‌a year earlier, while net loss widened to $9.1 million from $6.1 million.

• It intends to ‌list its shares on Nasdaq under the symbol "FFLY".

• Bitcoin miner ⁠and AI infrastructure provider ‌Ionic Digital also went ​public through a direct listing earlier this year.
