Citigroup hires five US tech investment banking executives from rivals

NEW YORK, ​July ​22 (Reuters) - Citigroup said on Wednesday it has ‌hired five managing directors for its ⁠technology investment banking in the ‌U.S. from Bank of ‌America, JPMorgan Chase and UBS.

Chris Groe, who recently left Bank ​of America, will be responsible for deals in payments, ⁠fintech and digital assets and is expected to ​join the team in New York in September.

Citi also hired ​four banking executives ‌in San Francisco, including three from JPMorgan. Florian ⁠Plath will be managing director for software and semiconductor companies, ⁠Dhruv Fotadar will cover enterprise infrastructure clients ​across software and AI and Anand Agarwal will focus on semiconductors and ‌AI companies.

Josh Sheets, the fourth hire in San ‌Francisco, will focus on vertical ⁠software companies ‌and is ​joining from UBS.
