Canada's Ivey PMI dips in September as prices index climbs
TORONTO, Oct 6 (Reuters) - Canadian economic activity expanded at a slower pace in September as a measure of inflation pressures rose, Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) data showed on Tuesday.
• The seasonally adjusted index decreased to 58.2 last month, after touching in August its highest level since May 2022 at 64.3.
• The Ivey PMI measures the month to month variation in economic activity as indicated by a panel of purchasing managers from across Canada. A reading above 50 indicates an increase in activity.
• The gauge of employment rose to an adjusted 56.5 from 55.0 in August.
• The adjusted prices index was at 82.8, up from 80.4.
• The unadjusted PMI dipped to 61.9 from 62.7.
