MasterBrand, Inc. (NYSE: MBC) has appointed Mark Young as Vice President and Interim Chief Financial Officer, replacing Andrea Simon, who is departing the residential cabinet manufacturer after six years.
Young, who joined MasterBrand in 2022 as Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer, assumes the interim role immediately. In his previous position, he was responsible for financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting policy. He has more than 20 years of finance and accounting experience in manufacturing and public accounting, including prior roles at Cooper Tire & Rubber Company, where he led global accounting and SEC reporting functions.
Simon has agreed to remain with the company in an advisory capacity through March 31, 2027, to assist with the transition. The company stated her departure is not related to any issues concerning the integrity of its financial statements or accounting policies and practices.
MasterBrand has begun a search for a permanent CFO, considering both internal and external candidates with the assistance of an executive search firm.
President and CEO Dave Banyard cited Young's familiarity with the company's operations following its merger with American Woodmark as a factor in his appointment. "Mark's understanding of both businesses and prior integration experience will be instrumental in advancing the work underway," Banyard said.
