April 17, 2014 11:55 AM EDTMorgan Stanley is out with positive commentary on Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) ahead of the consumer electronics giant's Q2 report, which is expected out next Tuesday.
Analyst Katy L. Huberty sees iPhone demand at 40.6 million units, according to the latest data from Morgan Stanley's AlphaWise smartphone tracker. The analyst commented, Recent promotions, like those at US carriers and retailers, and product adjustments, notably the introduction of an 8GB iPhone 5c in some regions, may have stimulated demand more than expected. Apple (AAPL) Considering Raising iPhone 6 Prices
April 14, 2014 7:41 AM EDTApple (NASDAQ: AAPL) has been negotiating with carriers on a possible $100 iPhone 6 price increase, according to Jefferies analyst Peter Misek. While the initial response has been "no", there seems to be an admission among the carriers that there is no other game-changing device this year and the analyst thinks Apple can get at least some of the increase. Even a $50 increase would offset most of the negative iPhone 6 gross margin impact and remove a major bear argument, according to Misek.
