The Hartford Announces Third Quarter 2021 Financial Results and Capital Management Actions
October 28, 2021 4:15 PM EDTThird quarter 2021 net income available to common stockholders of $476 million ($1.36 per diluted share) increased 5% from third quarter 2020, and core earnings* of $442 million (core earnings per diluted share* of $1.26) were down 16% from third quarter 2020 Net income ROE for the trailing 12-month period ended Sept. 30, 2021 was 12.3% and core earnings ROE* for the same period was 12.5% The Commercial Lines combined ratio was 101.2 in third quarter 2021 with an underlying combined ratio* of 87.2, a 6.5 point improvement from 93.7 in third quarter 2020.
