August 20, 2021 8:21 AM EDTDuring the much-anticipated Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) AI day that took place yesterday, CEO Elon Musk said the electric vehicle (EV) company will likely launch a Tesla "Bot next year designed to operate boring work that people hate to do.
The robot will be tasked to perform simple tasks, like attaching bolts to cars and picking up groceries. Musk believes that robots will have "profound implications for the economy with an aim not to make them very expensive.
