Commerce Bancshares, Inc. Reports Third Quarter Earnings Per Share Of $1.11
October 20, 2020 6:00 AM EDTKANSAS CITY, Mo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Commerce Bancshares, Inc. (NASDAQ: CBSH) announced earnings of $1.11 per common share for the three months ended September 30, 2020, compared to $.93 per share in the same quarter last year and $.34 per share in the prior quarter. Net income attributable to Commerce Bancshares, Inc. (net income) for the third quarter of 2020 amounted to $132.4 million, compared to $109.2 million in the third quarter of 2019 and $39.9 million in the prior quarter. For the quarter, the return on average assets was 1.71%, the return on average common equity was 15.21% and the efficiency ratio was 55.0%.
