April 23, 2020 8:00 AM EDTPASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- East West Bancorp, Inc. (East West or the Company) (Nasdaq: EWBC), parent company of East West Bank, the financial bridge between the United States and Greater China, today reported its financial results for the first quarter of 2020. For the first quarter of 2020, net income was $144.8 million or $1.00 per diluted share. First quarter 2020 return on average assets was 1.30% and return on average equity was 11.6%.
