Discover Financial Services Reports Second Quarter Net Income of $669 Million or $1.91 Per Diluted Share
July 26, 2018 4:18 PM EDTRIVERWOODS, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Discover Financial Services (NYSE: DFS) today reported net income of $669 million or $1.91 per diluted share for the second quarter of 2018, as compared to $546 million or $1.40 per diluted share for the second quarter of 2017. The companys return on equity for the second quarter of 2018 was 25%.
Second Quarter Highlights
Total loans grew $6.8 billion, or 9%, from the prior year to $84.8 billion. Credit card loans grew $6.0 billion, or 10%, to $67.8 billion, and Discover card sales volume increased 9% from the prior year, to $35.1 billion.... More
