Broadcom cuts Qualcomm offer to $117 billion after new NXP deal

(Reuters) - Microchip maker Broadcom Ltd (NASDAQ: AVGO) cut its bid for Qualcomm Inc (NASDAQ: QCOM) on Wednesday by 4 percent to $117 billion as it objected to Qualcomms decision to raise its own bid for NXP Semiconductors NV (NASDAQ: NXPI) to $44 billion.

Broadcom Limited (NASDAQ: AVGO) ("Broadcom") today issued the following statement:
Broadcom today reaffirms its commitment to acquiring Qualcomm, and is adjusting its offer following the Qualcomm board's decision to transfer $4.10 per Qualcomm share (or $6.2 billion of value) from Qualcomm stockholders to NXP stockholders.
