November 1, 2017 4:15 PM EDTNEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- MetLife, Inc. (NYSE: MET) today announced its results for the period ended September 30, 2017.
Third Quarter Results Summary
Net loss of $87 million, compared to net income of $571 million in the third quarter of 2016, including $1.1 billion in Brighthouse Financial, Inc. (Brighthouse) separation-related charges. On a per share basis, the net loss was $0.08, compared to net income of $0.51 in the prior-year period. Net loss includes $124 million, after tax, in net derivative losses reflecting changes in foreign currencies, interest rates and equity markets.... More
