Travelers Reports Third Quarter Net and Operating Income per Diluted Share of $2.45 and $2.40, Respectively

Net and operating income of $716 million and $701 million, respectively, declined from the prior year quarter, primarily due to lower net favorable prior year reserve development and higher non-catastrophe weather-related losses. Strong consolidated underwriting results, as reflected in combined ratio of 92.9% and underlying combined ratio of 92.1%. Record net written premiums of $6.389 billion, up 3% from prior year quarter.
