April 28, 2016 8:00 AM EDTBaird analyst, Colin Sebastian, raised his PT on PayPal (NASDAQ: PYPL) to $48 from $45 and reiterated his Outperform rating after another solid quarter where the company appears to be gaining marketshare despite the increasing competition.
PayPal reported TPV growth (+31% Y/Y ex-FX vs. +29% Y/Y in 4Q15) well above overall e-commerce, driven by higher user engagement (particularly mobile), suggesting that PayPal continues to gain share despite an increasingly competitive digital payment landscape. (Reuters) - PayPal Holdings Inc's (NASDAQ: PYPL) quarterly revenue and profit jumped, beating analysts' estimates, as the company added customers and processed more digital payments.
Shares of PayPal, spun off from eBay Inc (NASDAQ: EBAY) last year, were up 2 percent at $40.90 in extended trading on Wednesday.
