NFL Rights Seen as Cheap Way for Twitter (TWTR) to Grow Users - Baird

After rally, earnings gloom takes hold on Wall Street

(Reuters) - Wall Street fell sharply on Tuesday as investors took gains off the table following a recent rally and ahead of an upcoming quarterly reporting season that is expected to reveal sharply lower earnings.
Following a 13-percent surge over the past seven weeks, the S&P 500 declined 1.01 percent, with all 10 sectors down and a sharp drop in pharmaceutical company Allergan.
It was the S&P's first decline in six sessions, leaving the index flat for 2016.

Twitter to stream Thursday night NFL games in 2016 season

(Reuters) - The National Football League has chosen Twitter as its exclusive global partner for streaming its Thursday night games during the 2016 regular season, the parties said on Tuesday, a deal that could help the social media site expand its user base.
CBS Corp (NYSE: CBS) and Comcast Corp (NASDAQ: CMCSA) unit NBC, which won the broadcast rights in February, could also gain more viewers via Twitter, TV executives said.
