Exelon (EXC), Pepco (POM) Complete Merger Transaction
March 24, 2016 6:18 AM EDTExelon Corporation (NYSE: EXC) and Pepco Holdings Inc. (NYSE: POM) announced that the two companies have completed their merger transaction, effective today. The announcement follows the approval of the merger by the Public Service Commission of the District of Columbia (DC PSC) earlier today.
The merger brings together Exelons three electric and gas utilities BGE, ComEd and PECO and Pepco Holdings three electric and gas utilities Atlantic City Electric, Delmarva Power and Pepco to create the leading mid-Atlantic electric and gas utility company.

D.C. Approves Exelon's (EXC) $6.8B Takeover of Pepco Holdings (POM)

In a surprise move, D.C. regulators approved Exelon's (NYSE: EXC) $6.8 billion takeover of Pepco Holdings (NYSE: POM) at a meeting in Washington today.
The news sent shares of Pepco higher by 27%.
