September 22, 2015 9:50 AM EDT* Schweitzer-Mauduit (NYSE: SWM) announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire Argotec LLC, a leading producer of highly engineered urethane films for demanding specialty applications in surface protection, glass lamination and medical products. The purchase price is $280 million in cash (subject to certain customary adjustments). Given the structure of the transaction and step-up in tax basis, SWM expects to realize tax benefits having an estimated net present value of $65 million. GigOptix (GIG) to Acquire Terasquare in $119M Deal
September 22, 2015 9:03 AM EDTGigOptix (NYSE: GIG) announced signing a definitive agreement to acquire Terasquare, Co. Ltd., a Seoul, Korea-based, fabless semiconductor company and provider of low power, CMOS high speed communication interface semiconductors for 100Gbps Ethernet, Fiber Channel, and EDR Infiniband applications. The acquisition is expected to become effective on Wednesday, September 30, 2015.
