Chubb Reports Second Quarter Net Income per Share of $2.14; Operating Income per Share Is Up 22% to $2.08; Combined Ratio Is 85.5% including Catastrophe Impact of 4.7 Points
July 23, 2015 4:07 PM EDTWARREN, N.J., July 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Chubb Corporation (NYSE: CB) today reported that net income in the second quarter of 2015 was $494 million compared to $499 million in the second quarter of 2014. Net income per share increased 5% to $2.14 from $2.03.
Operating income, which the company defines as net income excluding after-tax realized investment gains and losses, was $481 million in the second quarter of 2015 compared to $418 million in the second quarter of 2014. Operating income per share increased 22% to $2.08 from $1.70.
