Lockheed Martin's (LMT) L-T Ratings Placed on Watch Negative by Fitch
July 20, 2015 3:35 PM EDTFitch Ratings has placed Lockheed Martin Corporation's (NYSE: LMT) long-term 'A-' ratings on Rating Watch Negative. The action follows LMT's announcement this morning of its agreement to purchase Sikorsky Aircraft from United Technologies ('A'/Outlook Stable) for $9 billion cash. The transaction would be mostly funded with debt. LMT's short-term ratings are not affected by this rating action. Fitch's ratings for LMT cover approximately $9.25 billion of existing debt. Lockheed Martin (LMT) to Acquire Sikorsky in $9B Deal (UTX)
July 20, 2015 7:31 AM EDTLockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Sikorsky Aircraft, a world leader in military and commercial rotary-wing aircraft, for $9.0 billion. The price is effectively reduced to approximately $7.1 billion, after taking into account tax benefits resulting from the transaction.
