Bernstein Positive Citigroup (C) Q1 Results
April 16, 2015 10:03 AM EDTBernstein analyst John McDonald offered some positive commentary on Citigroup (NYSE: C) following Q1 results this morning. The analyst noted the "robust" beat was driven by strong expense controls and a "blockbuster trading quarter."
The results further validates the firm's "trade to 1x TBV" thesis.

April 16, 2015 7:59 AM EDTCitigroup (NYSE: C) reported Q1 EPS of $1.52, $0.13 better than the analyst estimate of $1.39. Revenue for the quarter came in at $19.7 billion versus the consensus estimate of $19.83 billion.
This compared to net income of $3.9 billion, or $1.23 per diluted share, on revenues of $20.2 billion for the first quarter 2014.
CVA/DVA was negative $73 million (negative $47 million after-tax) in the first quarter 2015, compared to $7 million ($4 million after-tax) in the prior year... More
