Starwood Capital Group has promoted Tim Abram to Head of Asset Management, Europe, according to a company statement. Abram will also retain his title of Head of International Hotels.
Abram has been with Starwood Capital since 2015, was promoted to Managing Director in 2023, and became Co-Head of Global Hotels in 2024. He has worked in the firm's global equity business for more than a decade, with experience across commercial and hospitality assets.
Before joining Starwood Capital, Abram was an Associate Director in Real Estate, Lodging & Leisure Investment Banking at UBS in London, and prior to that worked in the Distressed Debt Group at Citi in London.
Barry Sternlicht, Chairman and CEO of Starwood Capital, cited the firm's activity in Europe as context for the appointment. "Europe is an important strategic market for us, underpinned by strong real estate fundamentals, and we have been very active in the past decades and are even more so now as we deploy our most recent $10.2 billion opportunity fund," Sternlicht said.
Abram will work alongside Matt Parrott and Francesco Zanella, co-heads of European Acquisitions. He is based in London.
Starwood Capital manages approximately $130 billion in assets under management. The firm closed its latest opportunistic real estate fund, Starwood Distressed Opportunity Fund XIII, in July 2026 with capital commitments exceeding $10.2 billion from more than 300 investors across approximately 20 countries. The firm also manages Starwood Property Trust (NYSE: STWD), a commercial mortgage real estate investment trust.
