Louisiana has awarded Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI) a $139 million, 10-year contract covering mobile video, digital evidence management systems, command center technology, and land mobile radio network upgrades across six state agencies.
The contract consolidates technology from multiple suppliers onto a single Motorola Solutions platform spanning 64 parishes. Participating agencies include the Louisiana State Police, Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Division of Probation and Parole, Office of Juvenile Justice, and the State Fire Marshal.
Robert Burns, Lieutenant Colonel of the Louisiana State Police, said in a statement that a nine-month evaluation led state leadership to choose a unified platform. "Bringing six state agencies across 64 parishes under one Motorola Solutions platform eliminates data silos, allowing our first responders to share real-time intelligence, cut response times and better protect our communities," Burns said.
Under the agreement, agencies will deploy body cameras and in-car video systems integrated into real-time operations centers. The digital evidence management system includes automated video redaction, audio transcription, and incident summary tools. New smart radios with real-time language translation capabilities will also be deployed statewide.
The contract extends the Louisiana Wireless Information Network (LWIN) maintenance and upgrade agreement for 10 years, supporting more than 109,000 users. A frame agreement also allows agencies to procure Motorola Solutions' next-generation D-Series network infrastructure over time.
