Onterris wins C$9M environmental contract for Canadian gas project

Onterris (NYSE: ONT) has been awarded a contract worth more than C$9 million to provide environmental services during the construction of a C$3 billion natural gas transmission project in Canada, according to a company press release.

The contract was awarded by an unnamed Canadian energy infrastructure company. Revenue from the agreement is expected to run through the end of 2027. The natural gas system, once operational, is expected to deliver more than 1 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day.

Onterris previously supported the project's front-end engineering design and detailed engineering phases, providing planning, permitting support, field investigations, and regulatory compliance services. The new contract extends the company's role into the construction phase and interim reclamation activities.

The scope of work includes wildlife protection, aquatic habitat monitoring, migratory bird compliance, wetland delineation, vegetation and soils management, invasive species management, biosecurity protocols, regulatory compliance, and GIS-enabled spatial data management.

The company said it will use enterprise GIS technologies, cloud-based field data collection, automated reporting workflows, and real-time spatial data management tools on the project.
