Aspida names Aaron Sarfatti as chief risk officer

Aspida Holdings Ltd. announced the appointment of Aaron Sarfatti as Chief Risk Officer, according to a press release issued Sept. 14, 2026.

Sarfatti brings more than 20 years of experience in financial services, annuity product development, and asset management. He most recently served as Chief Strategy Officer of Equitable Holdings, where he also led its Institutional Business and sat on the company's Management Committee. Before that role, he served as Chief Risk Officer of Equitable Holdings and Head of Strategy for its Retirement and Wealth Management businesses.

Earlier in his career, Sarfatti spent more than a decade at Oliver Wyman as a partner in its North American Insurance Practice and co-head of its New York office.

In his new role, Sarfatti will oversee Aspida's enterprise risk function across its retirement and reinsurance businesses.

Sarfatti was appointed by the Federal Reserve Board as an inaugural member of its Insurance Policy Advisory Committee in 2018 and later served as Vice Chair. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Computer Science from Princeton University and is a credentialed actuary.

Aspida Holdings, based in Durham, NC, reported total assets of over $31 billion as of March 31, 2026. A subsidiary of Ares Management Corporation (NYSE: ARES) serves as its dedicated investment manager and corporate development partner.
