Robinhood reports August 2026 platform assets rose 26% year over year

Robinhood Markets, Inc. (NASDAQ: HOOD) reported select operating data for August 2026, showing total platform assets reached $384 billion, up 8% from July 2026 and 26% from a year earlier, according to a company press release.



Funded customers at the end of August totaled 28.6 million, an increase of approximately 120,000 from July 2026 and roughly 1.9 million from the same period a year ago.



Net deposits for August were $4.0 billion, representing a 14% annualized growth rate relative to July 2026 total platform assets. Over the trailing twelve months, net deposits totaled $74.1 billion, reflecting a 24% annual growth rate relative to August 2025 total platform assets.



Equity notional trading volumes for August were $335 billion, up 1% from July and 68% year over year. Options contracts traded fell 10% from July to 293 million but were up 50% year over year. Crypto notional trading volumes rose 61% from July to $17.5 billion, though they were down 38% from a year earlier. Event contracts traded totaled 4.7 billion, down 23% from July but up 15 times year over year.



Margin balances at the end of August stood at $21.5 billion, up 4% from July and 72% year over year. Cash and deposit balances were $19.6 billion, up 1% from July and 37% year over year. Cash sweep balances were $31.2 billion, up 7% from July but down 9% year over year.



Total securities lending revenue in August was $36 million, down 10% from July and 32% from a year ago. Securities lending net revenue was negative $8 million.



The company noted that starting in July 2026, total platform assets include Trump Account assets custodied by Robinhood, and net deposits include Trump Account contributions. The data is unaudited and preliminary, subject to completion of financial closing procedures.
