EVgo Inc. (NASDAQ: EVGO) and Regency Centers Corporation (NASDAQ: REG) announced an expansion of their existing partnership, with plans to add more than 400 fast-charging stalls at Regency shopping centers across the United States.
According to a press release, the new stalls are expected to increase Regency's EV charging footprint by more than 20%. EVgo currently operates over 150 stalls at Regency locations, having installed its first charger at a Regency property in 2020.
The new charging sites are planned for retail centers in metropolitan areas across Colorado, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and other states. Each site is expected to feature up to 24 high-power chargers.
Scott Levitan, Executive Vice President of Growth at EVgo, said: "Expanding our partnership with Regency will help us meet growing customer demand while making public fast charging more accessible in the places people shop, dine and connect with their communities."
Mark Peternell, VP of Sustainability at Regency Centers, said: "Increasing access to fast charging like this supports the widespread adoption of EVs and advances our broader sustainability goals."
Regency Centers is a real estate investment trust and S&P 500 member that owns and operates grocery-anchored shopping centers across suburban U.S. markets.
