NielsenIQ (NIQ) has launched Optiq, an AI-powered tool, within its Discover platform, replacing the previous Ask Arthur branding as of September 7. The rollout is part of NIQ's broader effort to expand client access to its consumer and market intelligence data.
Optiq Chat, the conversational component of the product, is currently available to eligible U.S. clients within Discover. NIQ stated that a limited global beta release is planned for later in September, with broader client availability across its retail measurement datasets expected by September 21.
The tool allows users to ask business questions in natural language and receive answers grounded in NIQ data. Supported use cases include category and brand performance, competitive dynamics, pricing, and promotions.
Optiq consists of three components: Optiq Chat for conversational data access, Optiq Mobile for iOS users in the U.S., and Optiq Bridge, which is designed to connect NIQ data with external AI environments and third-party tools.
"AI models are becoming ubiquitous. Trusted intelligence is not," said Irina Stoian, Chief AI Commercial Officer at NIQ. "This is not AI layered onto another dashboard. It is a new intelligence system designed to move at the speed of commerce."
Troy Treangen, Chief AI and Product Officer at NIQ, said the product is intended to reduce complexity between a business question and the underlying data. "Clients can start with a business question, understand the basis for that answer and move more quickly toward action," he said.
According to a press release from NIQ, the company's AI infrastructure manages more than 160 petabytes of commercial data and supports 28,000 AI models running in production daily.
Optiq Mobile is currently available on iOS in the U.S., with further expansion planned. NIQ did not specify a timeline for Optiq Bridge's broader availability.
