NextTrip, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTRP) announced the expansion of its Journy TV travel media channel onto YouTube, where the channel has an initial base of nearly 50,000 subscribers and more than 150 shows, episodes, and travel videos.
The content library spans reality programming, documentaries, and films. The company said it plans to add long-form programming, YouTube Shorts, destination content, and creator collaborations to the channel. NextTrip also said it intends to premiere original programming on the channel, including an upcoming destination wedding series titled I Do: In Destination.
According to Nielsen's April 2026 Media Distributor Gauge, YouTube held the top position among measured media distributors, accounting for 13.4% of total U.S. television watch-time. YouTube also reports that its Shorts format averages more than 200 billion daily views.
NextTrip said Journy TV's overall distribution is expected to reach approximately 250 million connected TV, mobile, and online viewers across roughly 80 countries in 2026 via more than a dozen streaming and video platforms.
The company said it intends to pursue advertising, sponsorship, branded destination content, and travel commerce opportunities through the expanded YouTube presence, connecting the media channel to its existing travel booking technology.
"YouTube has evolved into a major television, entertainment and discovery platform," said Casey D'Ambra, President of Media at NextTrip. "We already have nearly 50,000 subscribers and more than 100 shows and videos to build from, along with a much broader travel content library."
According to Google research cited in the press release, more than 60% of travelers who use YouTube turn to the platform during the planning stages of their trip, and 53% of Gen Z travelers surveyed use YouTube during their travel journeys.
