Boston Scientific discloses cybersecurity incident causing global disruption

Boston Scientific Corporation (NYSE: BSX) disclosed that it identified a cybersecurity incident on August 25, 2026, affecting certain of its information technology systems and causing a global disruption to its operations.
Upon detection, the company activated its incident response protocols and engaged third-party cybersecurity experts to assess and contain the threat. The incident has disrupted access to certain information systems and business applications, including the ability to process and ship customer orders.
The company said it is working to restore affected functions and systems, but the timeline for full restoration is not yet known. The investigation is ongoing, and the full scope, nature, and operational and financial impacts of the incident have not yet been determined. The company said it has not yet concluded whether the incident is reasonably likely to have a material impact on the company.
