Morningstar, Inc. (Nasdaq: MORN) and its subsidiary PitchBook announced planned Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations with Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services, joining as launch partners for the platform's preview release.
The integrations will allow eligible Morningstar and PitchBook subscribers to access investment data, research, ratings, and private market intelligence directly within Gemini Enterprise without switching between applications. Availability is described as imminent.
Through the integrations, users will be able to draw on Morningstar's public market data and research alongside PitchBook's private capital markets intelligence, which covers companies, investors, funds, transactions, and market activity. Responses generated within Gemini Enterprise will include source attribution identifying the underlying Morningstar or PitchBook content.
Seth Sprinkle, global head of AI platforms strategy and partnerships for Morningstar, said: "By bringing independent research and investment intelligence from Morningstar and PitchBook into Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services, we want to help investors access our insights more efficiently, while preserving transparency in the sources behind those answers."
Tom Van Buskirk, executive vice president of Technology and Engineering at PitchBook, said: "Working with Google to bring that intelligence into Gemini Enterprise lets users ask harder questions and receive answers backed by intelligence from Morningstar and PitchBook."
Satish Thomas, vice president at Google Cloud, said the integration is aimed at enabling financial professionals to "accelerate investment research and make decisions with confidence."
Access will be available to eligible subscribers through individual MCP integration subscriptions or enterprise licensing arrangements. Morningstar operates through subsidiaries in 32 countries and reported approximately $375 billion in assets under management and advisement as of June 30, 2026. PitchBook serves more than 100,000 clients worldwide.
