McEwen Mining COO William Shaver to retire after 4 years

McEwen Inc. (NYSE/TSX: MUX) announced the planned retirement of Chief Operating Officer William Shaver, who has spent more than 55 years in the mining industry, including four years at the company. Shaver will continue to serve on the board of directors of McEwen Copper, which is 46.3% owned by McEwen.
The company said it will name the new ramp at its Stock Mine in Timmins, Ontario, the William Shaver Ramp in recognition of his contributions. Shaver co-founded Dynatec Corporation in 1980.
Following the retirement, McEwen announced three internal promotions to its senior leadership team. Channa Kumarage was promoted to Vice President, Operations, and will oversee the company's operating mines. Kumarage previously served as Director of Technical Services and holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mineral Engineering from the University of Toronto.
Kevin Bromfield was promoted to Vice President, Development Projects, and will lead engineering and construction efforts at the Grey Fox, Tartan Mine, and Lookout Mountain/Windfall projects. Bromfield holds a B.Sc. in Mining Engineering from Queen's University and an Executive MBA from the Ivey School of Business.
Zahir Jina was promoted to Vice President, Permitting, Government Relations and Sustainability. Jina brings more than 15 years of experience in environmental management and permitting for mining projects across Canada and internationally, with prior roles at Wyloo, Treasury Metals, Teck Coal, and Anglo American.
Vice-Chairman Ian Ball will work with the three newly promoted executives as the company pursues a production target of 250,000 to 300,000 gold equivalent ounces by 2030, according to the company's statement.
