KOMO anchors vote to end SAG-AFTRA union representation

August 24, 2026 10:13 AM EDT

Anchors and reporters at KOMO 4 in Seattle voted to end their representation by the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), according to a statement from Sinclair, Inc. (Nasdaq: SBGI), the station's owner.

The vote followed a decertification petition filed with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) in July. Upon completion of the NLRB process, SAG-AFTRA will no longer serve as the exclusive bargaining representative for employees in the unit.

Sinclair issued a statement saying the outcome "reflects the trust and strong working relationship we have built with our employees."
