Trossen Robotics and Stereolabs, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ouster (Nasdaq: OUST), announced a collaboration to integrate Stereolabs' ZED X Mini and ZED X Nano cameras into Trossen's Physical AI hardware platforms, according to a press release.
The partnership centers on Trossen's Workbench and Rivet platforms, which are stationary and mobile bimanual manipulation systems. Each platform features dual WidowX Pro 6-DoF arms with a reach of 700 mm to 1,000 mm, payload capacities of 4 to 6 kg, and 1 mm repeatability. The platforms run on NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin 64 GB compute modules and support teleoperation over local and internet networks.
The integrated vision system includes one ZED X Mini scene camera mounted at the center and two ZED X Nano cameras mounted at the wrists. The ZED X Nano uses dual 2.3 MP global-shutter sensors capable of capturing at up to 60 frames per second. The cameras connect via GMSL2 cabling and are factory-calibrated for synchronized operation on the Jetson compute platform.
The platforms support ROS 2 and NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Isaac Lab workflows for imitation learning, reinforcement learning, and sim-to-real applications.
"Stereolabs ZED X Nano gives us the signal stability, image quality, and throughput to take Physical AI from the lab into hardened industrial deployments," said Matt Trossen, CEO of Trossen Robotics.
"The Workbench with Stereolabs ZED X Mini and ZED X Nano turns every demonstration into training-grade data," said Cecile Schmollgruber, President of Stereolabs.
The Workbench is part of a broader hardware suite that also includes the Rivet mobile manipulation platform, Glide passive leader arms, and Cockpit operator station. Trossen said the suite will be demonstrated at its Physical AI Residency in San Francisco from August 12 to 28, 2026, and at the Actuate conference in San Francisco on August 18 and 19, 2026.
