BlackSky Technology Inc. (NYSE: BKSY) has secured a seven-figure, multi-year international contract for combined Assured and On-Demand satellite imagery and analytics subscriptions, according to a company press release.
The contract follows a successful initial pilot program, after which the unnamed customer signed an expanded deal for BlackSky's Gen-2 and Gen-3 imagery and AI-enabled analytics services delivered through its Spectra® tasking and analytics platform.
Under the agreement, the customer will receive global coverage through an On-Demand subscription alongside an Assured subscription providing priority access to imagery and analytics within a specific regional area of operations.
"This contract marks a significant increase in value from the original pilot program," said Brian O'Toole, BlackSky's CEO.
The contract combines BlackSky's Gen-2 satellite constellation, which provides high-frequency monitoring, with its Gen-3 satellites, which capture 35-centimeter resolution imagery. The Gen-3 system enables automated identification and classification of vehicles, aircraft, vessels, and other objects.
BlackSky is headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, and operates a low earth orbit satellite constellation alongside its Spectra® software platform.
