Oshkosh takes equity stake in construction robotics firm Nextera

Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE: OSK) has made a strategic equity investment in Nextera Robotics, a Boston-based company that develops autonomous robotics and AI systems for construction sites, according to a press release from Oshkosh.

Nextera's Didge™ platform uses autonomous mobile robots and vision-based AI to provide construction site safety monitoring, quality control, progress tracking, digital documentation and real-time reporting.

The investment is intended to complement JLG, Oshkosh's mobile elevating work platforms and telehandlers subsidiary. Oshkosh said the Nextera platform is designed to work alongside JLG's ClearSky Smart Fleet™ connected equipment system.

"The future of construction isn't defined by connected equipment alone; it's defined by connected job sites, where intelligent machines, autonomous robotics and AI-powered insights work together to improve safety, productivity and project execution," said Jay Iyengar, executive vice president and chief technology and strategic sourcing officer at Oshkosh.

Oshkosh did not disclose the financial terms of the investment. The company said the collaboration will be showcased as part of its CES 2027 experience. Oshkosh employs over 19,000 people and its products are sold in more than 150 countries.
