Iran says reached a deal with Oman on Strait of Hormuz shipping route

Investing.com -- Iran and Oman have agreed on the geographic coordinates for a shipping route through the Strait of Hormuz, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said on Wednesday.

A joint announcement between the two countries is in its final stage, provided certain third parties do not interfere, Baghaei stated.

The spokesperson clarified that any agreement between Iran and Oman does not, by itself, guarantee security in the strategic waterway.

Baghaei also said there are no plans for Iran's foreign minister or parliament speaker to travel to Pakistan or Qatar. He noted that Iran is exchanging views with both Pakistan and Qatar.
