Apollo Global Management picks Austin as second headquarters

Apollo Global Management (NYSE: APO) has selected Austin, Texas, as a second headquarters, according to a statement from Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

The New York-based alternative asset manager announced in March that it was considering expanding to either South Florida or Texas. The firm has been searching for a location for months as part of an effort to find talent outside of New York.

Apollo's primary headquarters remain at 9 West 57th St. in Manhattan, overlooking Central Park.
