Jet.AI Inc. (NASDAQ: JTAI) has made a $1.75 million equity investment in StratGrid Inc., a Calgary, Alberta-based developer of natural gas-powered data center infrastructure, according to a press release from the company.
The investment was made through SG Canada InvestCo LLC, a vehicle in which Jet.AI holds a majority interest. The stake represents approximately 26% of StratGrid's common equity on a fully vested basis.
StratGrid is developing two data center campuses in Southern Alberta using behind-the-meter natural gas generation rather than connecting to the regional utility grid. Its first project, Project Wheatland in Wheatland County, is designed for approximately 200 megawatts of generation capacity with expansion potential beyond one gigawatt. A second site, Project Mountain View, brings the combined platform's designed capacity to over two gigawatts. StratGrid controls several hundred acres of freehold land across both sites within designated industrial nodes in Southern Alberta.
WSP, a global engineering and professional services firm, is providing initial engineering services for the projects. Sustrio, a consulting firm focused on sustainability and regulatory matters, is also involved.
"StratGrid's behind-the-meter power model is meant to address one of the biggest bottlenecks in new data center development today; getting reliable, competitively priced power online fast enough to meet AI-driven demand," said Mike Winston, Founder and Executive Chairman of Jet.AI.
David Sealock, Chief Executive Officer of StratGrid, said the investment "strengthens our capital position as we advance our development program across engineering, regulatory and land workstreams."
Alberta has seen increased data center investment, including a one-gigawatt, CAD $13 billion facility by Meta Platforms Inc. that broke ground in Sturgeon County in July 2026.
