Nvidia adds Omniverse libraries to Agent Toolkit for 3D simulation

Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) announced at SIGGRAPH that its Agent Toolkit now includes Omniverse libraries, a set of software components designed to give AI agents tools to prepare 3D content for physical AI simulation.

The new libraries — ovrtx, ovphysx and CAD-to-SimReady skills — are openly available on GitHub. They provide AI agents with capabilities for RTX sensor simulation, GPU-accelerated physics and simulation-ready asset validation within existing 3D applications.

SideFX and PTC are among the software makers integrating the Omniverse libraries. SideFX is exploring how the ovrtx and ovphysx libraries can support its Houdini procedural 3D content creation workflows. PTC is using OpenUSD and ovrtx within its Onshape CAD and product data management platform to connect cloud-native design workflows with physical simulation.

"The physical AI era will be built in simulation first," said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of Nvidia. "NVIDIA Agent Toolkit with Omniverse libraries brings AI agents into the 3D tools developers already use, helping build the simulation-ready worlds where robots, factories and autonomous systems are trained and tested long before they reach the real world."

Startups Palatial, Lightwheel, ForgeCAD and Moonlake AI are also among early adopters building with the libraries. Nvidia also released a blueprint for integrating Omniverse libraries in Blender, available on GitHub.

The company said the workflows can run locally on systems ranging from Nvidia RTX Spark to Nvidia DGX Station. RTX Spark systems are expected to be available this fall from ASUS, Dell Technologies, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft Surface and MSI. DGX Station systems are currently available to order from ASUS, Dell, GIGABYTE, HP, MSI, Supermicro and Exxact.
