Transocean wins $185M in drilling contracts in Norway and Australia

Transocean Ltd. (NYSE: RIG) announced contract awards totaling approximately $185 million in firm backlog for two of its harsh environment semisubmersibles, according to a company press release.
The Transocean Norge received a five-well contract with Harbour Energy in Norway, covering an estimated 300 days of work expected to begin in the first quarter of 2028. The contract adds approximately $149 million to backlog, excluding mobilization and additional services, and includes three one-well options.
The Transocean Equinox was awarded a two-well contract with Santos in Australia, covering an estimated 90 days of work expected to commence in the second quarter of 2027. That contract contributes approximately $36 million in backlog, excluding mobilization and additional services, and includes five one-well options.
Transocean operates a fleet of 27 mobile offshore drilling units, consisting of 20 ultra-deepwater floaters and seven harsh environment floaters.
